Put your loved one’s mind at rest—adopt ICE

December 30, 2009

Few days back one of our family friends who was out on a walk had a heart stroke and he fell down on the road. Although he was carrying his mobile phone but no one knew whom to contact from his contact list

The police just redialled the last time dialed. Luckily that number turned out to be his assistant’s and the family could be contacted immediately. Just imagine the severity of the situation if the police had been unable to locate his near and dear ones.

We all carry our mobile phones with a long contact list, but nobody, other than ourselves, know which of these numbers belong to our closest family members and friends

If we were to be involved in an accident or there was some emergency, people attending us would have our phones but would not know whom to contact

To save this situation all we need to do is store the number of a contact person /s who should be contacted during emergency under one nationally recognized name

A request has been forwarded by some medical personnel as well as police that everyone should store some emergency numbers under a common name so it becomes easy for the persons attending the patient or victim of an accident to contact the family members.

A nationally recognized IN CASE OF EMERGENCY NUMBERS (ICE) —–ICE numbers for this purpose has been selected for such emergency situations which should be adopted by everyone.

Save the numbers of all those who should be contacted in case of emergency under the heading/name of ICE In case of more than one contact number simply have ICE 1, ICE 2, and ICE 3 etc

A great idea that will make a difference. And put everyone’s mind at rest.

ICE will speak for us when we are not able to ———–

Let us all get down making some changes in our contact lists in our mobile phones.

Am I hearing some instant clicking on various cell phones?

I agree. I always carry my ID card with me. Over here it is enough if one has an ID because everybody( who is legal here) is registered in the city council register. But yes it is important to have an ID card.
